My son just got his CAT scores back and I need help interpreting them. His reading composite scored at a grade equivalent of 7.4 but his language composite was at grade 13.6. Does this discrepancy sound correct or could he have cheated somehow?
Hi,
If you were watching, or if he had a proctor while he tested, then I doubt he has cheated somehow. His scores may just vary depending on each skill, so if he did well in his other language sections that may have brought his overall scores up as well. You could also contact the testing service to make sure there wasn’t an error made, but they’re all computerized.
We mostly just use the scores as a guide for what we need to work on going forward.
