@My3beauties - Those are great suggestions as well! My kids enjoyed Mouse Tales, / Mouse Soup, and the Tales of Amanda Pig, as well.

My daughter also was a reluctant reader but has really come along way this year! What really has encouraged her is Reading Eggs. It’s an online program, reasonable priced, and very engaging. I know you can try it out for free for 2 or 4 weeks. Try it and see if he enjoys it!

My DD (and a friend’s DS & DD) loves the Pathway Readers series. They are stories about some Amish kids. I was surprised at how much DD enjoyed them and was willing to read them to me after all our other fails. She loves me to read to her, but having to read herself is a different story. Mostly because she wants to be able to read something like Little House series or Secret Garden and not early readers.
