I am a mom to two beautiful kiddos and wife to a wonderful husband. I spent 5 years teaching in a public school in northern Colorado as a Special Education Teacher in an intensive program for students with autism. When my son started preschool, we decided that we wanted to homeschool. My son is now entering first grade, and my daughter is starting preschool. I realized that I used a lot of the teaching strategies, curriculum development, assessment/data taking, and education planning at home that I used while teaching at school. Realizing that other homeschool parents may not have the same experiences to draw on for troubleshooting and decision-making, I started a blog to help build a sense of community and learning for homeschoolers. I want to contribute to the homeschool community in general any way I can because I believe it is all about creating the best learning environment for our children and tailoring their education to give them an edge in this world.
